Bay laurel is a variety of the Lauraceae family, a beautiful tree that grows in the Mediterranean basin and can reach up to 15 meters in height. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and branches that bear the fruit. Although Bay laurel is most commonly used in cooking, it can also be used in Aromatherapy as an antibacterial and antiviral agent, helping with skin mycoses.
